Tool 02
Can you live in the house while we work?
Usually yes, and often more comfortably than people expect. This planner shows which rooms go out of use, gives you a straight recommendation, and hands you a checklist to work through before demolition starts.
Your living arrangements.
Stay, with a plan
Staying is possible, with a plan and a fallback
Based on the areas you selected, here is how the house is likely to feel while we work.
Why we say that
- With the only kitchen out of use, you will be washing up in a bathroom or a laundry sink for the duration. A temporary kitchen makes this very manageable, but it needs setting up before demolition, not after.
What goes out of use
- Kitchen
No cooking, no sink, no dishwasher
We seal the work area with temporary partitions, protect floor routes, and run daily cleanup. Fine dust still travels, so anything precious should be packed away and stored.
Your checklist
Before demolition starts
- Pack and store everything from the work area, including anything on shared walls
- Agree the site access route, the parking arrangement and where the dumpster sits
- Confirm working hours with the household and, as a courtesy, with the neighbours
- Photograph the rooms as they are, which is useful for insurance and for the before and after
A temporary kitchen that actually works
- A refrigerator, a microwave and a kettle on one table, ideally near a sink
- An induction hob and a single good pan handle most weeknight cooking
- Paper plates for the first fortnight, then a washing-up routine you can live with
- Keep one box of everyday crockery out and store the rest
All the way through
- Read the weekly written update, and reply to anything asking for a decision
- Keep selections final once they are made, since changes after ordering move both price and date
- Walk the site with your lead carpenter once a week, at a set time
Please read this alongside your result
- These are planning guides only, drawn from the way we run projects. Every property is different, and yours may behave differently.
- Nothing here estimates how long a project takes. Scope, location and the reviewing authority decide that, and we schedule each house individually.
- Nothing produced by this tool is a quotation, a proposal or a commitment of any kind. Only a signed written agreement between us is binding.
- Your answers stay in your browser. Nothing is saved, sent or shared.
We will plan this with you, room by room.
Before anything is demolished we agree the site setup, the access route, the working hours and the dust containment in writing, so nobody is surprised on the first morning.
We reply within one business day.
