INLAY Construction renovates homes in Austin, Texas. What sets us apart is not craft language, because everyone claims that. It is that our process, our schedule and the way your price is reached are all written down and shared with you from the very first conversation.
Why we work this way.

What is already true and verifiable is how we run a project. Design and every finish selection happen before a price exists. The price is fixed. The schedule is published. One lead carpenter runs your house from demolition to punch list, and you get a written update every week, including the weeks when the news is that nothing moved.
Austin has no shortage of remodelers. It has a shortage of remodelers who will tell you what something costs before you are three meetings deep.
Credentials, stated accurately.
You will see other Austin companies describe themselves as licensed general contractors. Texas does not issue that license. Only electricians, HVAC technicians and plumbers are licensed by the state, and those trades on your project are performed by licensed partners.
Workmanship warranty
12 months on labor, bounded and written down
Our warranty covers the labor we perform for twelve months from substantial completion. Materials, appliances and fixtures are covered by their manufacturers, and those warranties pass to you directly. We do not offer lifetime guarantees, because nobody can honestly stand behind one.

Saying yes to everything is how projects go wrong. Here is the work we turn down, so you can find out in thirty seconds rather than after two meetings.
- Single-item repairs and handyman work. We are set up for full-room and whole-house projects.
- Projects below our minimum size. PLACEHOLDER: confirm the figure before launch.
- Cost-plus contracts with an open-ended budget. Every project is fixed price after design.
- Work outside our service area. We keep the footprint tight so crews are on your street rather than on the highway.
- Jobs where the pressure to start requires skipping design, selections or permits. We will not start a build on undecided drawings.
- Commercial construction. Our work is residential.
