Roofing in Austin
Austin roofs live a hard life: hail, long stretches of high heat and sudden heavy rain. Most failures we are called to look at are not the shingles at all. They are flashing, penetrations and ventilation, which is exactly where a careful roof differs from a fast one.

We publish the exclusions because they are where surprises live. Anything on this list that you want included becomes part of the scope and part of the fixed price.
Where the number comes from
What pushes the cost up, and what brings it down.
Pushes it up
- Steep pitches and multiple stories, which change access and safety requirements
- Complex rooflines with many valleys, dormers and penetrations
- Standing seam metal or tile instead of architectural composition shingle
- Widespread decking replacement discovered after tear-off
- Removing multiple existing layers before the new roof goes on
Brings it down
- A simple gable or hip roof with few penetrations
- Architectural composition shingle rather than metal or tile
- Sound decking that needs only spot repair
- Scheduling outside the post-storm peak, when crews and materials are stretched

Questions
Roofing questions we get most.
Do I need a full replacement or will a repair do?
We will tell you honestly. If the covering has life left and the problem is flashing or a penetration, a repair is the right answer, and we will say so even though it is the smaller job.
Is roofing work licensed in Texas?
Texas does not license roofing contractors. We carry general liability and workers' compensation coverage, we are registered with the City of Austin Development Services Department, and any electrical work tied to the roof is performed by Texas-licensed trade partners.
What does a roof replacement involve?
Tear-off, deck repair, dry-in, flashing, ventilation and the new covering, with full site protection and magnetic nail sweeps daily. Weather is the variable we cannot control, and we plan the sequence around it.
Tell us about your project.
Send us the basics and we will follow up with a clear, honest sense of the budget for what you have in mind. If we are not the right fit, we will say so quickly.
We reply within one business day.
